People have been asking me my opinion over what is going on in the Ukraine, and that’s not an easy question to answer, and it’s hard to know where to begin. I would suggest for a start that we should be suspicious of any civil unrest which is designed to destabilise relations within the Russian sphere of influence. Putin is no nationalist but the west hates him because he has sabotaged the United State’s plans to escalate civil war in Syria, another client of the Russian Federation. That is the “one-two punch” with which the West usually deals with Russia, last used in Egypt and Hungary in the 1950’s.
That said, neither Putin nor Yanukivovic are friends of the white cause, nor for that matter is Belarus. Putin is at best a Russian nationalist in the tradition of the old Soviet Empire once Stalin has weeded the jews out of his politburo. Anti-jewish but by no means pro-white.
However there is the fact that our dog in the fight (concerning Ukrainian politics), the Svboda Party, had decided to throw its lot in with the “pro-Democracy” demonstrators led by the Armenian jewess Yulia Tymoshenko. Does that mean we do not stand by them, as we stood by Golden Dawn in Greece? I argue no. When there is a major conflict which engulfs the nation you have to pick a side, and it is up to the Ukrainian Nationalists to decide which side they pick, not us sitting in our armchairs.
You simply do not sit on the fence is an issue like this (as the cowardly UKIP did here over the Iraq war, torn by populists sentiment on the one hand, and jingoistic Tory bigwigs on the other), you have to decide which side you would like to see win and develop a perspective for what you want to see happen.
So, when Putin is fighting the Chechens, we should support Putin. When Serbs are up against the Albanians, we should support the Serbs. Now the Ukrainians are up against the new Soviets we should support the Ukrainians.
